The Psychology Board of Australia (the Board) has now considered the information obtained throughout the investigation and named a decision on the matter. As you are aware, the Board, in its powers under the National Law has considered your notifications together and therefore delivers its decision accordingly. The Board’s decisions and reasons are set out below. Decision On 6 November 2020 the Psychology Board of Australia (the Board) considered Mr Olsen’s response to the proposed action following the investigation of notifications 00395747 and 00393577 about Mr Andrew Olsen’s treatment and management of Mr ******* **** and Mr ********* *********. After considering the notifications, the information gathered during investigation and the Board’s Code of Conduct , the Board found Mr Olsen’s management of Mr **** and Mr ********* to be below the standard reasonably expected of a practitioner with a similar level of training and experience in relation to issues 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 (detailed below). Based on this finding, the Board formed a reasonable belief that the way Mr Olsen practised the health profession is unsatisfactory. Mr Olsen is no longer registered as a psychologist and the regulatory controls available to the Board are limited. However, the Board considers that regulatory action is required in order to ensure that the deficiencies with Mr Olsen’s performance, when he was registered, are addressed.
